Richard A. Fuchs is a Germany based journalist specialised on European institutional affairs and energy policy. He is currently engaged at the German International Broadaster Deutsche Welle, operating in Berlin and Bonn Germany.

He works mainly as a political and business coresspondent from Berlin and he was also engaged at the media training department of Deutsche Welle, the reknown DW-Akademie.

Journalism on its Way.

Richard finished his 18-months professional journalism training ("Volontariat") in Spring 2008. Before becoming a certified editor and political correspondent at the German public broadcaster, he did internships at Deutsche Welle (Bonn), Politik-Digital.de (Berlin), Prager Zeitung (Prag), Badische Zeitung (Freiburg) and the Südwestpresse Ulm (Ehingen). Between 2001 and 2002, Richard finished a extracurricular job qualification as a certified Webdesigner (issuing institution: IHK Freiburg, Germany)

Richard studied initially at the University of Freiburg, Germany. He graduated there in Political Science and English (M.A. in Spring 2005). During the time of his exchange studies (2002 to 2003), he was enrolled at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Directly after finishing his studies, he enrolled for the post-Graduate Master of European and Administrative Studies at the reknown College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium (2006 Beethoven Promotion).

He accomplished his university entrance degree (Abitur) in 1999 in Ehingen, Donau, a small to medium-size town in Southern Germany.

Richard's mother tongue is German. His command of Englisch is excellent, in French, he is ready to negotiate orally. A little pleasure of his has been time he spent to learn the basics of Czech.
